New news for views

It has been a while since I posted anything here, so I should update everybody on what’s been going on art-wise for me.

-I have a piece on display at Artworks in Kenosha. It is part of show called Draw Works, and there are plenty of other artists to see there. The show only goes until March 28th, though, so if you want to see it, get over there soon.

-I will be at Chicago Zine Fest on Saturday, May 9th from 11am to 6pm. I’ll be selling my comics there, including the latest issue of Drannik & Lizzep. More info about the show, including where it’s located, can be found here.

-Finally, I may be doing an inbound art residency for comics and zines in Chicago later in May. Details are tentative at the moment, but you can find out more about what that entails here.

Drannik & Lizzep #6 now available

Drannik & Lizzep #6 is now available on Indyplanet. Click here to get a copy for yourself.

Also, I will be at the opening reception of the Draw Works show at Artworks in Kenosha on February 14th, as I’ve got two pieces in the show. Feel free to stop by and check out my stuff, and maybe even purchase one of them for yourself.

2014 Inspired Art Show Recap

Last Friday, I went to the Inspired Art auction held by AmericaSCORES Milwaukee, and hosted at the Milwaukee Public Market. I had a piece on the block there (a red striped bear with a mohawk that I have somewhere under the Portfolio link of this site), which sold for about $75. That was far, far less than what my Broccoli Monster piece sold for two years ago, but at least the money is going to charity. Anyway, I have below a few photos from the event.

Some updates on things that are happening

Since it has been a while since my last post, I figured I should probably update on what’s going on:

-Drannik & Lizzep #6 is in the works as I type this. I have completed writing the stories that will go in the issue, and will begin drawing them in the next few days.

-Once again, I have entered the AmericaSCORES Milwaukee Inspired Art Auction. My artwork is featured here. The auction will take place on October 24th at the Milwaukee Public Market.

-I have purchased a table for Milwaukee Zine Fest, which is on November 8th at Polish Falcon in Milwaukee. I will be selling comics and maybe some drawings as well.

-A comic page of mine was featured in Left of the Lake #6. Well, it was actually part of the mini-comic book “Squint”, but it’s there. Go pick up a copy if you happen to be in the Kenosha area.

Artistic Expressions 2014 – Saturday July 13th

Hello again. I will be a part of the Artistic Expressions event at Henry and Wanda’s in Racine. The event is on July 13th from 3 until 8 pm. I plan on selling comics there, including the recently completed Drannik & Lizzep #5, as well as Mr. Smiley and One Dot, two one-shot comics I’ve done. More info can be found in the link below. Free Comic Book Day this Saturday

It’s been a while since I posted anything, so I just wanted you all to know that I will be at Rockhead’s Comics and Games in Kenosha on Saturday giving away a comic that I made for Free Comic Book Day. Stop on by if you want a copy.

New news and such

Some news because I haven’t posted in quite some time:

-The grant has gone through for “The Journal of Mischa”. We won’t hear anything about it til later, though, so keep your eyes open for more later.

-Issue 5 of Drannik & Lizzep is in the works, with the first story for it almost completed. The cover is done by Deidre “Pit-Face” Crouch, whose work you can see here.

-Big news: I’m on the waitlist for CAKE 2014. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll make it in, but they must have liked my stuff enough to put me on the waitlist for the show. We’ll see what happens in the next few months. Reminder: CAKE 2014 will be in Chicago on May 31st and June 1st. It is an alternative comics show, so even if I don’t get in, please go to it and support my fellow indie comic creators.

Meta Con 2013 Recap

Last weekend I went to Meta Con in Minneapolis to sell some comics, as well as some commissions. While I didn’t make any commission sales, I did sell quite a few books. The con itself was interesting, as it focused more on anime and gaming than it did on comic stuff. There were quite a few people dressed up as cartoon characters wandering the halls. Below are just a few pictures from the con floor itself.
