Hello there. My name is Tony Kinnard, and I have high-functioning autism as well as a form of bipolar disorder. I never revealed those facts about myself before, but I never felt they were important things about me, just what I do and who I know. Normally I don’t use this website for much more than updates regarding art and my portfolio, but I have had some setbacks recently, much of it much too personal to post even here, and I’ve come up with a theory about everything. Keep in mind: I have repeated this to some of my family and friends (maybe even too much), but these are ideas that are important to me right now. I might be right, I might be wrong, but I need anyone who is knowledgeable and is interested to listen and read this post at least. Here is how best I can explain these ideas. Continue reading →
I have been dealing with a lot lately, so much so that I can’t even mention it all here, but I have come up with a theory on life in general that I want to share. I will post about it within the next week, but I need to compile it all down first, including images.
I realize that I haven’t posted anything on this site since July of last year, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy. I was at Milwaukee Zine Fest again last November, and I have posted a portfolio of my work from the Racine Zoo under Portfolio, plus I am working on some other projects as well. I am the kind of person that doesn’t like to show anything until it is finished or near finished, but I wanted to at least update anyone on what I’m currently working on:
-I am still working on Drannik & Lizzep #7, but it is taking me a lot longer than I thought it would. I have finished the second chapter, and am starting work on the final chapter because I want to get the ending down before I work on the rest of the story. Basically, what Jeff Smith did for Bone.
-I will be releasing an album of music in the next while or so. I just have to get the mixes approved from my audio engineer friend before I make that public. In the meantime, that will appear on my Bandcamp page: buskers.bandcamp.com
-I am also, on the side, compiling a collection of my old Negligence comics from years ago into a new book collection.
There are other things I’m working on as well, but these are my main projects at the moment. Just a quick update this time.
I have not posted anything on this site in a long time, mostly for various personal reasons, but also because I never intended this site to be any sort of blog. However, I can at least mention a few things that have happened in the meantime:
-I recently got a job as a graphic design intern at the Racine Zoo. I may even post some of my work on here once I get the okay to do so.
-Drannik & Lizzep #7 is still being worked albeit at a slow pace.
-I’ve been working on an album of music for the past two months. I plan on releasing a demo of one of the songs from it soon. In the meantime, this is a lyric video I did for one of those songs:
So, it has been a while since the last post. I have done some site cleanup, including updating the resume on the About page, fixing the Links page (some of the links went to dead sites), and adding new pieces to the Portfolio section (specifically, the Comic Pages section). Speaking of which:
It has been a while since I posted anything here, so I should update everybody on what’s been going on art-wise for me.
-I have a piece on display at Artworks in Kenosha. It is part of show called Draw Works, and there are plenty of other artists to see there. The show only goes until March 28th, though, so if you want to see it, get over there soon.
-I will be at Chicago Zine Fest on Saturday, May 9th from 11am to 6pm. I’ll be selling my comics there, including the latest issue of Drannik & Lizzep. More info about the show, including where it’s located, can be found here.
-Finally, I may be doing an inbound art residency for comics and zines in Chicago later in May. Details are tentative at the moment, but you can find out more about what that entails here.
Drannik & Lizzep #6 is now available on Indyplanet. Click here to get a copy for yourself.
Also, I will be at the opening reception of the Draw Works show at Artworks in Kenosha on February 14th, as I’ve got two pieces in the show. Feel free to stop by and check out my stuff, and maybe even purchase one of them for yourself.
Last Friday, I went to the Inspired Art auction held by AmericaSCORES Milwaukee, and hosted at the Milwaukee Public Market. I had a piece on the block there (a red striped bear with a mohawk that I have somewhere under the Portfolio link of this site), which sold for about $75. That was far, far less than what my Broccoli Monster piece sold for two years ago, but at least the money is going to charity. Anyway, I have below a few photos from the event.
